Jay, Under normal conditions the DeLorean cannot be jump started the way you describe because the fuel pump only receives power when the starter is being cranked. I would strongly suggest that you correct the starter problem before attempting to start the car. FYI: The DeLorean factory installed starters have an extremely low failure rate.
