We are checking the operation of our oxygen sensor using a dwell meter as described in the manual. The dwell meter we have has ranges for six and eight cylinder engines. Inasmuch as this meter was designed for setting old fashioned point ignition do we need to use a multiplier on the guage reading to get an accurate dwell angle for the Lambda system? With the car warm, on the eight cylinder scale we are getting readings of 10-12 degrees. We understand the normal reading should be 35-45 degrees.
