The fuel accumulator consists of a pressure chamber, diaphragm, spring, and plunger. The last three items are prone to breakage and leaking. We have no indication that heated fuel accelerates any failures. If hot fuel is collapsing your fuel pick up line you will need to replace the pick up hose.
