But my question is, what can cause an accumulator to go bad? --- -Robert vin 6585 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Robert, I am just a little confused. (The fuel in the gas tank is getting hot enough in traffic to cause the pick up hose to collapse,) The gas tank is in the front of the car, not a lot of heat there. And if you know that the pick-up hose in the gas tank has been collapsing, you will need to start there. The pick-up hose in the gas tank is about a $100.00 so inspect it closely and make sure that it does need replacing. It will hurt the wallet, but as far as I know there is no cross over part. Anyway, I think that a good place to check for your fuel problem is the fuel lines that are connected to your fuel accumulator. These lines can collapse if they were not put together with the proper tools. Heat is used the seal them properly and if they were heated to much they will collapse internally. Something to think about here is these lines can be made up in stainless steel braided fuel line. Any speed shop or large truck service center can make them up for you.
