Go to a mufler shop and have it cut off. But if you live in a large city you may have to pass certain emission control regulations, which would not allow them to do this unless you and the owner work out something of the books. Or, you can cut it off if you have the tools and ability to get under the car. The all you'd have to do is place a piece of pipe in its place. Itstead of all that id reccomend an aftermarket converter. Unlike the old ones there relativly small and you can look through them and see light. If your looking for a little more sound, the legal and environmental way, thats the best way to go. (Old converters usually have a honey comb type insert with mineral granules added. Do Not take the plug off! The metal a converter is made of is required to be heated to enormous teperatures before it can be welded on, and no JB weld wont fix it.
