eric, Alignment facilities that perform precision "on the car" spin balance use a floor mounted machine that is fitted with a large electrically driven roller that is placed under the tire that is being balanced. The operator simply pushes a button which will spin the wheel to highway or race track speeds. By doing this the entire wheel assembly will spin exactly the way it would when mounted on the car. The DeLorean has a racing type suspension and has little tolerance for any type of imbalance therefore "on the car" balancing is necessary for precise vibration and shimmy free performance.
