Hello List, Have any of you noticed the body panel alignment on 1981 Cars? I have an early 81. The area between the front fenders and the doors is wider than the D that I had before. The car that had correct body alignment was a Nov 81 VIN 6058. I'm describing to the area when the doors are closed. For those of you that have realigned the panels, was it a difficult job? When Mike Loasby DMCL Director of engineering was conducting the technical seminar at the 1997 EuroFest he mentioned the specs for the early cars was in the area of 1/2 inch. He went on to mention that the correct way to hang the body was in a sequence. First to position the roof structure, then hang the doors, and then to hang the rest of the panels with the front and rear fascia to follow . Would door shims play a role in the panel alignment? BTW Is Mike Loasby returning to Belfast in 2001? Mike
