As I understand it, the QAC's weren't opened when the very early >D's were shipped. > You understand incorrectly - the QAC's existed from the very beginning,though their scope changed throughout the company's life. Initially as a "prep center" then very early on as a "rebuild center" (upwards of 40 man hours per car afte the cars reached the states) and then later on as more a "prep center" again.
