Personally, I think any reputable battery brand will do nicely in the D. >From that standpoint it isn't any different from any other car. I have an Optima in mine. Have had it in for two years and think it is great. Living where it gets very cold, I especially like the cranking capacity (even though it is seldom driven in the winter). Also, because it is fully sealed, I don't have to worry about leakage. You can put it in on it's side, upside down or whatever, and it just keeps functioning. It's only disadvantage is that it is expensive, but it isn't something you have to replace every day so I didn't consider that a big point. Dick Ryan VIN 16867
