I would not recommend using "hot glue" anywhere inside a car. I know someone who's wife fixed some broken trim on the inside of his car (not a DMC) and it worked until the first hot summer day when everything fell off. Hot glue's melting point is within the range obtainable inside a car on a hot day. Epoxy or other glue would be fine, as long as you never plan on taking it apart again.
