This begs the question: does the flywheel sensor actually output a signal? I assume it is a magnetic pickup of some kind, but I don't see exactly what it is detecting on the flywheel. Is there supposed to be a magnet at TDC or something that appears in other applications but is missing from the DeLorean flywheel? Or is it somehow watching the bolts go by or something like that?
