Has anyone ever considered the use of a micro hydraulic system much like that on some convertible tops? I know the PT Cruiser uses small hydraulic pistons that would be of a similar size to our existing door struts. Of course this wouldn't be practical as you have to find a place to fit the pump and all the other hardware. I know this wouldn't be that practical considering the cost and possible modifications to the door, but I think it could be done.
