There is an extra microswitch behind the throttle spool that the automatic equipped car has. The manual equipped car has only one, and the automatic equipped car has two. So, make sure you pull the extra microswitch from the old engine and install it on the new one. As I recall, the extra switch closes on full throttle, and causes the auto trans to downshift.
