[DML] Re: Speedometer Update

If DeLo speedometer is like others of its vintage:
-Odometers are mechanical, driven by gears interfaced to the cable
(worm gear)
-Speedometer is electrical, driven by a magnet attached directly to
the cable

Was very common in the 1970's to make speedometer gears from plastic.
Are subject to break, especially if dirt or debris gets lodged in
them. Age and lack of lubrication can cause them to break their own teeth.

Anything that interferes with magnet rotation will cause the needle to
fluctuate.

I suspect your odometer gears have broken, and are now interfering with
the speedometer magnet.
