As long as it isn't slipping you're in good shape. I just had my tranny rebuilt two months ago, so I understand your concern. In fact, the day the tranny was fixed and they were lowering it off th lift, my shifting cable snapped in half. Heh, quickest $90.00 ever spent. My mechanic has identified the problem to be with the cable that controls the downshift in response to throttle movement. He indicates that my throttle cable does not move freely. Has anyone else experienced and corrected this downshift problem? Is it the cable or something else related to the cable? My mechanic has ordered a replacement cable.
