Alex, There is indeed a common issue with the brake lights not working. Almost every problem is a result of the weak and weathered taillight circuit boards. The fixes are both easy: you can repair the originals with some screws from radio shack, or if you're lazy (like me), you can replace them with the Grady boards and never think about them again. The Grady ones are a tremendous piece that I deem worth the value-added cost.
