Robert,

Followed your directions to the part and, sure enough,
there it was.  But, according to the parts manual, it
is not a static discharge thingy, it is a breather
pipe, which makes more sense, since it is hollow.

Now, the real question----is it really a necessary
item to have on the system??  Or is it just one of
those parts that costs a whole lot and doesn't do
anything??
