You are correct, and the same thing happened with police using RADAR guns.
The simple fact is that cell phones haven't been around long enough for a
real world study. Because person X developed cancer, and is a cell phone
user, does not mean person Y will, even though they use a cell phone.
Hell, some of the latest tests seem to show the radiation effects our DNA
and cells forming in newborns.

There were studies conducted about 2 years ago that showed some
correlation between cell phone usage and brain tumours - the question
is do cell phones cause brain tumours, or do brain tumours cause
excessive cell phone use.
