Ah, the "Bracket From Hell"... (Actually it's just one 8mm bolt from
Hell. The other one's easy to access).
Did you notice that the slot in that bracket is *ALMOST* big enough to
slip the shift cable into with it already in place? While my
transmission was out I filed a little material off each side. Now I
can put that bracket on the transmission on the ground, install it,
then simply slip the cable in place. The other bracket (the one with
the leg to the bottom of the end cap) holds it from underneath, so
there's no way it could ever slip down.
Why didn't DeLo do this way from the factory? More quality engineering...
