If you've just filled the coolant, don't rely on this. It takes quite a
time for all the air to bleed out, and we learnt a long time ago to fill
a system up, then leave it overnight (or at the very least a couple of
hours) before firing the engine up. This avoids any messing about as a
result of getting an air-lock in the pump. As soon as that happens, and
if you don't realise, you're stuffed.
