Just got off phone with my fire department buddy (the one who towed Rich's car -- with a 1971 truck). Brought him up to speed on my current fist fight (always thought a Brit, German, or Dutchman would beat me up, not fellow Americans!). Told me not to worry. Not only did General Motors engineer assinine emission systems that make Ford look like an amateur, but he reminded me that most DeLorean owners drive only one car that pre-dates 1990's technology, and they usually have no end of problems with it. He and I are still driving the same cars we drove in high school. We both have driveways full of pre-80's cars that run like tops. He's not yet unable to de-emission his '79 Olds under Virginia inspection, but I have successfully ripped all that crap off 5 Lincolns, 1 AMC, and the truck (DeLo came to me blissfully free of such encumberances) -- and they all run better afterwards. Y'all do what you want with your cars (as is your perogative), and I'll do what I want with mine. Can we agree to disagree?
