Yeah, I was thinking this after looking a bit at the DML archives. It's
certainly possible. As I indicated in an earlier message, I already knew
I'd knocked off one vacuum hose while working on the distributor. Turned
out it was the manifold tap, and I got it back on. Doesn't mean there's
not another leak somewhere else.
I've got one of Hervey's nice silicone vacuum hose kits which I have yet
to install. I was planning to get it on there after doing the ignition
upgrade kit, but what better time to rule out vacuum leaks than now? I'll
probably get on it when I have some more daylight. (I really should
invest in some decent lighting for my garage. I do all my best thinging
at around 3:00 am.)

I actually was going to have my mechanic have a look at one. I think they
look okay. Very slight ash coloring. No deposits or uneven wear. I
don't know if DMCH swapped the plugs over when putting in the new engine
of if they provided new plugs, so they've either got 5000 or 1000 miles on
them. Either way, not a whole lot.

That certainly describes what the engine is doing, but it also describes
what the engine has done all along when cold. The only difference now is
that it doesn't smooth out once it's warm.

Okay. I'll put this on my list of things to play with tomorrow. I also
need to make sure I didn't accidentally get the idle speed regulator
disconnected from the ECU or something, since I was working in that area.

I don't, but I can promise you my mechanic does. I'll get him to take a
reading next time I'm down at his shop in the DMC.
