I don't want to be redundant repeating Rich's suggestions, so here's another angle: Fix the cooling fan issue first. That might be the reason for the car loosing coolant. You only ran the car for 25 min? At idle? That may not be enough time for it to overheat in cool weather. As for your high idle, check the thermister under the intake manifold. I had the plug pull off of mine which caused a similar high idle problem. It's nearly impossible to reach the thermister without taking the intake manifold off. So instead check it with an ohm meter at the plug going into the idle speed ECU. The thermister should measure a few kilo ohms (and of course varies with coolant temperature).
