I've always noticed that my car runs very rich when cold. By cold I mean after it's sat overnight, or as in this evening when it sat for almost 4 hours in sub-freezing temps. And I'm not just talking a little rich, the car almost drowns itself for a couple of minutes before something changes and it starts running perfectly. The car puffs out unburned fuel, and is barely driveable until it's warm. Again, this only lasts about 2 minutes after the car is initially started. I know that the car likely needs a new O2 sensor because it also hunts at idle when the engine very cold. Is my O2 sensor drowning my car at start-up, or is something else faulty? Bill has tried to explain the DeLo idle and warm up system to me many a time, but my understanding of the system is pretty foggy. Anyone have any idea what's going on with my car? This evening was the worst I've ever seen the car behave. It was stumbling terribly, and I didn't go away as fast as normal. I pulled over to make sure I didn't have a clogged glowing cat, and when I got in the car and pulled off it was running perfect. It was the strangest damn thing.
