Hey Jeremiah I just sent a reply to the DML about your problem, and a couple things I forgot to mention. You might want to check your automatic transmission fuse in the fusebox, I should think if that blew you wouldn't get any decision-making capability from the computer. If you want to/need to service your governor, here's a few suggestions. I just did this a week ago, so it's still fresh in my head. First of all- I highly recommend buying the service manuals- they come in handy for all things DeLorean. Also, unless anyone else found a better way, be prepared to drain the transmission and drop the pan when the computer is removed- one of the connectors (the one going to the soleniods, if I'm not mistaken) has to be undone from the inside. Be sure to have a new seal on hand for replacement. It's available through all the D vendors. If you're doing this job yourself, be sure to torque it to the specified torque settings only, 2-3 ft/lbs. I'm on my second seal already after learning that lesson the hard way. Another problem that I found in my computer harness was a lot of melted wires. Be sure to check the wires and repair if necessary. When I reinstalled the governor I routed the cables a little further from the exhaust to avoid that problem. I hope this helps, and good luck. Lastnight, me and DMC83n99 took my "new" DeLorean for her first test drive. The following is the only problem that creeped its head up lastnight: The first 10 minutes or so, she drives perfectly, shifting from 1st to 2nd to 3rd with no problem. However, once the car has had about 3 miles down the road, I will have the car in 1st going down the road and it sticks in 1st. If I try to accelerate, I get nothing but engine reving; the engine simply will not go from 1st to 2nd - it is solidly stuck in 1st. When trying to go to 2nd, it's almost as if it's in neutral, and you can hold the pedal down all you want - it will not go from 1st to 2nd. IF I come to a complete stop and hit the accelerator, she will drive no problem but only in 1st gear; the car will simply not go to 2nd or 3rd What I don't understand is it works just fine the 1st 10 minutes or the first 2-3 miles...then all of a sudden that problem pops up. Any ideas anyone? I'm guessing it's the solenoids/computer governor. If anyone could add some suggestions, that would be great. Thank you all for your time.
