Correct, Houston says they don't bother, they just retime the engine every time. Of course they've had oodles of experience doing it... Listen, I tried to use the bracket but the manual didn't say some important things! The 10mm allen bolt that holds the cam sprocket on has a huge head and does NOT come out the access hole. If you try to use the bracket and undo the bolt, you will bend or snap off that "leg" of the timing chain cover as the bolt shoves back against it. You can also dork up the threads in the cam or on the bolt. If you do use the sprocket support, there is an acess plate at the back of the head. Remove it, and the cam will back out as you undo the 10mm allen bolt and the timing chain cover will be ok. You may have already known this but I felt it worth saying. -I- didn't know until it was too late. I gave up on the bracket and did it the hard way. I saw the access plate and found out afterward.
