You've got a few facts mixed up Walt

The 3 litre A610 engine can be tuned to well over 400-450hp RELIABLY. In
an A610.

In England, but they still race them in France.

An A610 engine will use a race-mappable ECU which are available in
France. The Emerald ECU would be for the 24v normally aspirated lump.

The 3l 24 valve engine is tunable to over 300hp. 350 is possible.

Personally, I'd go with the normally aspirated engine because

1) You know it'd be okay with a stock 3 speed auto tranny (it's the
torque of the american lumps that kills them, not the smooth hp power
bands of one of these)
2) The exhaust will use the same configuration
3) The pipework on a turbo engine may well turn into a nightmare as we
try to plumb in an intercooler. You'll incurr a lot of costs of us
getting the exhaust made to fit.
4) There may be heat issues in the engine bay with the turbo where it is
on that engine
5) IMHO the 3 litre 24 valve engine will be nicer to look at :-)
6) The money you save can go on a custom 5-speed gearbox with shorter
low-end gears, higher final drive and a LSD. Donuts anyone?
