Maybe I was just lucky???  But, when I did my exhaust
I did not have any of these problems..

All I did was soak the nuts in liquid wrench for a few
DAYS, Spraying the area twice a day.  After I got the
manifolds off, I soaked the studs the same way.. they
came right off (using the double-nut method, and hand
tools)...  and this car sat for years outside, and had
planty of rust.
