RE: [DMCForum] Linear Actuator

I can think of a few ways it could be done, but I would have to get into
it
and really see what I could do. One possibility would be to have the pin
able to be pulled straight down from where the actuator would connect at
the
point the current piston attaches. The cable could be mounted to pull a
pin
parallel to the roof's surface. Just a few thoughts since I haven't
actually built one.

With the door closed, you can not get good access to the piston (where the
linear actuator would be) to release anything. I don't see how a cable
setup would work either.

Truth is, once you start thinking about it there really is no point other
than the "coolness" factor of maybe closing your doors by remote control.

The current mechanical system used in the DeLorean is probably the safest
method anyone could come up with even with more modern ideas available
now.
