[DMCForum] delorean stuff

I am thinking of collecting some Delorean related "stuff" Just curious
some
of the unique things people have or have seen....I was looking at the
stock
certificates but they are overpriced on ebay...I have heard about dealer
signs and some other unique items too...

Anyone out there have something from the factory or one of the
dealerships?

I do not like things that are "limited" or "special" edition items that
are
made to be collectables as they are usually neither :-)

Travis,

You spoke up two days too late! I was just at Universal Studios checking
out the BTTF car they had on display. I didn't bring a camera. Jim
Sleeth
(one of the Florida DeLorean club people) works in the park, so maybe you
could get him to bring a camera and take photos for you.

The car appeared to be VIN 6475, but it was hard to read through the
windshield while leaning way over the railing. It had the worst case of
eyebrows on the front fascia I had ever seen. The low beam headlights
were
on continuously and the eyebrows were over the high beams (as usual) so
maybe this dispels the myth of the eyebrow effect being caused by heat
from
the high beams. I think the sun heats the fascia more than the headlights
ever could.

The exhaust tips were cut off and put back on aimed forward. The engine &
transmission were still intact. It was easy to look under the car because
it is elegantly? posed on jack stands to look like it was flying. The
license plate bezel had notches cut at the top -- I suppose because they
couldn't figure out how it was supposed to fit under the license plate
lamps.

The car looked kind of sad, but it is serving a good purpose by giving the
car so much publicity. We should start a petition to have them fix those
eyebrows on the fascia!

And with all the publicity of this car on display with the BTTF ride, it
is
no wonder we get so many BTTF jokes.

I took a few pictures of the BTTF car that was at the Memphis show.
Adjacent cars stopped me from taking any artistic photos. Mine are mostly
anatomical of the stuff on the back of the car. Let me know and I'll
e-mail
them to you.

Walt
