Carrol Shelby did this with his Cobras. He had his original frames and engines stored and began to produce them at $1,000,000 a pop. Don't know if he had any takers. $100,000 to go to organtransplant charities since I think he is the recipient of a heart. Anyway He had titles from when the frame was manufactured and even though the car wasn't assembled, it only had to meet the emissions standards for the car from when the frame was titled. I guess it will be dependant on the title.
