Thanks Guys, Ill probably order the DMCH one ? it will give me an excuse to order a few other things too :-) _____ From: doc-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:doc-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Mike Bosworth Sent: 29 March 2006 09:56 To: doc-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [doc] throttle cable ... just as a side note, if you do make up your own cable, make sure it is the 'pre-stretched' stuff, you need 3 metres of it but then like Chris says at £12+ postage probably just as well to buy the 'real' thing.. Mine was frayed to bits just as it starts to go round the throttle spool, a little hard to see without really looking for it but as 50% of the strands has gone ping im glad i didnt find out the hard way :) Just make sure when you pull the old one through that there are no loose bits that might get lodged inside the outer tube. I put grease on the old cable before pulling it out and plently on the new one as i pushed it back through, there is quite a sense of relief as it eventually comes through the other end... but then im easily pleased :) :) Regards Mike #2001/403 --- In doc-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, chris@... wrote: > > Paul > > > I need to replace my throttle cable as I have noticed mine is frayed. You can buy some cable from a bike shop but you need the little 'ball' on the end that attaches to the pedal. Easy to replace just dis connect it from the throttle spool and pull back thru at the pedal end. Then using some lubricant and thread the new line back through. It can be a little difficult at times but take your time and it will eventually come out the other end. > > Chris > DOC UK Website: www.deloreans.co.uk Unsubscribe: doc-uk-unsubscribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ** Unless otherwise stated, all messages posted to the group are assumed public and may be printed in the club magazine ** _____ YAHOO!
