One of our "Courtesy Corsa's" at work has got one of those 'easytronic' autoboxes (a 5 speed one allegedly). It's a bloody annoying thing to drive as it doesnt change gear like you'd expect an auto to, but lurches between gearchanges. I've also driven Clio's and Punto's with similar gearboxes and they all drive the same. They are such a pants idea!! The one saving grace is that when driving "Lurch" (as me and the driver's have nicknamed it), rather then leaving it in auto, I tend to knock it over into the sequential mode and change gear when I want to, not when the car wants to by pushing the gear lever back and forth accordingly - it still lurches, just not as much :o) Poxy car, you end up needing a neck brace after a ride in that thing! Haha, rant over :o) Auto's in general tho arnt *that bad* IMO :o) I must admit, having the opportunity of specifying an automatic company car came in very handy when I needed to get around before and after operations on my left knee.
