Hi I was driving home today and heard a loud "twang" from the front of the car as if something had snapped. There was no change in the steering and the car did not pull to one side when braking. On getting home I had a look around and the only thing I thought didn’t look right was how low the speedo cable was hanging down (I had never noticed it before) I remember reading somewhere about a fix for the speedo cable where it connects to the front when but forgot to save it. I have posted a few photos (http://autos.ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/doc-uk/photos/browse/a0c6?c=) of where it joins the front wheel and would appreciate it if you could have a look and let me know if it appears to have come off and hopefully explain the twang noise I heard. Also if its come off how do I fix it. Paul (162) Belfast #2493 Ps: Thanks Martin for the advice last night. Kept me mobile today :-) Pps: Only back on the road the past fortnight and I nearly re-worked the front of the car when an Audi pulled out in front of me from a car park without looking right. I had just come off a roundabout so had not been on the road when he had first looked. The tyres screeching the car to a halt is not a sound I want to hear often (although much prefer it to the sound of stainless steel stopping me). The funny thing was as he acknowledged the mistake and mouthed sorry you could see on his face he was thinking - "ahh it’s a Delorean, of all the cars to crash into!!!!!!!" lol. -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
