I just purchased a Delorean on Saturday and drove her back on the Birkinhead
? Belfast ferry on Sunday. It takes 8 hours but the fare includes dinner and
breakfast and cabin (£158.00 one way). I got the 10.30pm sailing (although
it was delayed until 12.00) and was home for 9.00am the next day. Got a
sleep on the boat too but still fairly tired on Monday.
The only thing I didn?t like about the boat (it may be the norm but I was
not expecting it) was that the car was on an open deck (albeit to the rear).
I had assumed it would be parked inside. There were vehicles inside but Im
not sure if it was luck of the draw or not.
They also do a 10.30am sailing. The cabin I had slept 4 people and had an
en-suite. It saves driving from Dublin to Belfast. The Ferry is operated
by Norse 02890779090.

Well its not long now till I hopefully get "Maddie" back. She's heading
for her MOT around about now. Then all being well and good I should
pick up the keys from DMC sometime on Friday. I'm soooo looking forward
to stepping on that loud peddle and seeing the horizon get a lot closer!
I've had a fair old bit of work done and its going to be interesting
too see just how different she is going to be to drive now. Not only
quicker all through the gears but also in the handling with the
refurbed steering rack, performance shocks and adjustments to the front
end ball joints etc. Really just sorting out a few niggly problems.
I'll write a full report on my experinces with what I'm going to
call "Maddie - mk2"
On a side note, looks like its going to be a really busy year for
shows. I'm just looking at ways of getting to Belfast for eurofest.
What are other people thinking? I was looking at Fishbourne to Rosslare
or Hollyhead to Dublin.
