RE: [doc] CV Joint Removal / Repacking / Replacement......

Hi Mike

CV Joints are quite easy if a little gungy

Get the car on ramps/pit and remove the 6 bolts holding the joint on the
wheel side, and another six to the gearbox side - can't miss 'em. No
need to remove wheels or hubs or anything complicated

Give the axle a jiggle and the two joints and the axle should just fall
out in one - watch it doesn't do that on yer head!

To remove the boots, you'll need to remove one of the joints. Under the
gold cap at each end is a big circlip around the end of the axle, remove
it, and the joint will slide off the splines on the axle.

Subject: [doc] CV Joint Removal / Repacking / Replacement......

Hi All

As part of the things id like to get done over the forthcoming bad
winter we are going to have....:)

Has anyone tackled their CV joints and care to share any tips on taking
these off cleaning regreasing and replacing. Does the rear hub have to
be removed to get these out?

Any Help Greatfully Recieved ....
