There is a guy  who has been there and done that and got the tee shirt, the 
only way he could get the Bedford rack to fit was lots and lots of grinding 
and when it did fit it was unsafe. He has found a replacement in New Zeland 
he is looking into. He was in the UK but when he went back to OZ he had to 
convert his car and gots a bedford rack before he went back over
