Work Backwards logically.
If the car ran continuously (albeit poor), then you changed the accumulator, then now it runs bad, then this is where the problem is most likely.
Does the fuel pump run at all?
When you first turn the ignition on, the fuel pump relay should run the fuel pump for a few seconds to prime the fuel system. With total loss of fuel pressure, this will not run the pump to re-prime the system. No pressure - no engine running.
I am assuming that you have fitted the accumulator the correct way round (it may be sided, I am not sure, no need to change mine)
Remove the fuel pump relay and put a 10 Amp fused link wire between pins 30 and 87 (if I remember right), this should run the fuel pump continuously. Let it run for 30 seconds and then try starting again.
Try not to introduce other variables when trying to fix a problem.
Don't go changing the relays haphazardly too. The lambda relay is different to the others, if the incorrect one is inserted then you can lose power to the fuel eco or the control pressure regulator.
Good luck.

You need to think carefully about your actions and try and order them
properly. Once you disturb more than one thing, you may actually be
inducing faults and when more than one fault, you will never sort it
out, without going back to basics and checking everything.
Nick Tomlinson recommends working your way methodically through the
book, you need to check all the basics before you start adjusting things
or swapping bits and bobs in an hap-hazard fashion.
Is it getting fuel in the correct quantity? Is it sparking properly
and at the right time? (it should be unless you have been fiddling)
I work on the assumption that it was running OK until the problem
developed, things rarely "go out of adjustment" on there own.
Most faults are down to the fuel system.
Good luck. Do you know any friendly local Volvo or Reno mechanics who
can guide you?
Best regards

Subject: [doc] re new accumulator-now will not start!
Hi all
as my previous posts, car did start, ran rough (wandering idle) for
2 mins then stalled.
changed accumulator, ran for 30 seconds now will not start.
to change accumulator, removed rpm plus fuel relay.
definately put them back correct.
now did it run for the 30 secs with the fuel left in the filter??
in working on the accumulator, i could have kinked the plastic pipes
(the black sheething fell off!) as its tigghttttt in there.
i haven't rechecked but reckon i should change feed hose to
accumulator.
then i plan on taking off air intake manifold etc...is this the best
idea? i will replace plugs etc. is it worth replacing pulse coil as
well??
i did want the car at least to start before doing this to help
isolate the problem.
also i have a set of new relays so perhaps if i change these.
Regards
Steve
