That must be the problem James because when my car was undergoing surgery at Paul O'Malleys he told me he done some work on the steering rack (tightening the pre-tensioners?)
I will have to call him up later....the owners over here are having a meetup next weekend, and we will be driving a few hundred miles. Must get it fixed before then!
Thanks!

Thomas,
I had a bad clunking sound comming from the front when I changed my
springs, it turned out that the lowering of the car had accentuated
some play I had in the steering rack.
It was a horrible knocking sound comming from the front whenever I
went over the slighteset lump or bump.
Luckly I removed a shim from the steering rack, to take out the
play, and it removed the knocking sound completley.
