Hi Craig, I?m not sure what the ?letter of the law is? ? but I?m sure Mark Bourne will be able to clarify that one. I did drive Flopsy for a bit with her USA licence plates on (she was insured and MOT?d on her VIN number) which I know was a bit naughty, Officer, but I?m an impatient sod!! I also know of another club member (you know who you are!!) who drove his car for about 2yrs with the US plate on the back, and a UK sized plate on the front that had the same numbers and letters as the USA one (so in a way it looked like a private plate). I guess the main problem with driving on US plates rather then UK ones, is that if the car is not UK registered then it does not have a tax disc. Therefore, depending on your council, if it?s parked up on the road somewhere it can be given a 7 day notice, clamped, then removed and crushed under DVLA?s new rules for dealing with untaxed cars. Plus with all these ANPR cameras at the moment, big brother is definitely watching?? Claire Vin 2292 ?VUR594W? I am hoping that it will pass the MOT tomorrow...there have been many probs (There is no such thing as a cheap D and Chris P's statment of a car in american dollars equates to english pounds has come true). Anyway, i have AON insurance, i will have the MOT, i have an american plate on the back only! Can i drive it legally back to my house and then register it...i cannot leave it up there and wait for registering as there is no under cover storage available. Plan B is to use a transporter but i would rather save the money. I was thinking about making a card plate on the front replicating the one on the back just to drive home and tape it on../.will this draw more/less attention please help Craig DOC388 Vin 6723 -- No virus found in this incoming message.
