Hi,
I have emailed both copies of my BTI and the email from C&E
confirming my 5% rate was valid.
I would prefer if possible that my name wasn't used in case they
decide to hammer me for helping :-)
Facts are - I applied for my BTI back in May 2001 as soon as I knew I
wanted a D'.. it took quite a bit of paperwork and photos etc along
with the application, but I was quite quickly issued with a 'generic'
BTI that is valid for 6 yrs from issue that allows me to import ANY
DeLorean (not modified) auto or manual grey or black, at 5%.
When I received the BTI cancelled letter, it was like the rest,
assuming I already had imported a car - presumably because BTI's were
usually granted on a specific VIN vehicle, this was not the case and
my car had only been purchased the month before and was in transit.
I spoke to C&E and they agreed that I could have the 5% rate as I
held a valid BTI.
Personally, I think I was lucky.
