Re: [doc] Car number plates

My car is a Nov 81, so it should be an X reg if I'd had a plate 
issued by the DVLA - I had already bought a private plate for the car 
on a retention certificate so they actually issued it over the 
counter - I was told that an age-related plate would take them 5 
weeks to send! so I was glad to have a plate ready!

As for whether it would have been an X as it should be, or a W as I 
think it would be, would be down to the 1st reg date they put on the 
vehicle reg document. To try to get it registered properly I even 
gave them a large picture of the vin plate with the month NOV 81 
clearly circled, and the guy at the DVLA took it - however, even 
though I gave them this info the reg document still came back to me 
with the 1st registered date of Jan 81 ! so, if I ever wanted an age 
related plate I would have to have a W I suspect!!
