Hi Martin,
Fuel Flaps are good. Its nice not to open the hood all
the time to fill up. Just having a break from striping LJH's
Fuel System. I have had a lot of trouble with it lately, lots
of diffrent faults. Some due to prevous owner(s).
Found main problem was large lump of muck in the bottom of the
fuel pump. Next question how did it get there? should be stopped
by filter screen. Answer: Filter missing along with inner baffle!
I have removed the accumulator to replace the hoses and replaced the
inline filter. I also blew out all the lines with a airline
(carefully).
On the plus side the tank is very clean! I cut open the old inline
filter (only fitted last November) and it was full of muck.
On another note I sorted the surging idle (thanks Rich H) which was
down to the Lambda Sensor being a little over due for replacement
(15K miles!). I guess the same fellow who removed the bits from the
fuel tank thought it was a good plan to pull the bulb from the
warning light and not replace the sensor!
All the best
Nick H
