Hi Phil,
I have done this job a couple of times on LJH, the best
instructions are a www.dmcnews.com. Go to the technical section.
I would strongly recomend the self-bleed kit. It works great.
The bleed valve is on top of the thermostat housing on the top
of the water pump. It takes ages to get all the air out without
the self-bleed kit. Fill up the system at the expansion tank.
Read the bit on flushing the system you will get loads of muck
out of it. Leave the hose running for a good half hour or till
you get clean water coming out.
hope this helps
All the best

in the system since I bought the car in '02 and has probably been in
there for a good while longer too. I don't have the self-bleed kit
fitted to my car, so I was wondering if anyone can give my any advice
on where to bleed the fluid from and where to fill it up so I avoid
getting air into the system.
