Re: [doc] Rev Counter

Hi Rich,

Rev counters usualy work from the triggering of an earth at the coil.
Try making sure this cable is on at the coil OK and has a good continuity
to the rev counter. Also check the Supply at the rev counter and any earths
around that area.

If there are many earths going to a stud, the nut holding all these earths down could be loose.
I personaly would use an earth bar with a good cable back to the battery earth.

Could also be a dry joint on the rev counter itself, inspect any sodlering with a
magnifying glass.

Good luck.

All the best,

NickT

Morning All,

Anyone had an erratic rev counter before? It seems to flick up to
4000rpm for a moment or two, then pop back down again, hover for a
bit, then repeat. Has been 100% reliable until now.

I had the binnacle off the other day for the speedo cable, but the
rev counter has worked fine since then, until this morning.

I've found one reference to it in the DML archive - anything more
recent/ any practical experience from anyone?
