[doc] car alarm

Dear All,
I disconnect the car battery every time I leave the D
when I park at home (no need for a alarm for
protection as the car park is secure enough), but I
need a alarm occationally when I do park in public car
parks for a short while to stop people leaning,
touching... etc my D (in this short while I won't
disconnect the battery for the alarm).
So I am planning to get a cheap easy fit motion/
current sensing car alarm for my D.
Can anyone suggest a good mounting place for the
speaker?? Behind the grill, inside the boot or
somewhere under the boot?? I don't think the speaker
will be good to expose to water and heat in the engine
bay... and I don't think mounting the speaker inside
the battery compartment will be a good idea as it
reduce the sound level of the speaker.
The easy fit car alarms i have seen so far requires
positive wire connected to the battery and the
negative wire connected to the earth. And there is a
optional wire to be connected to door lights so to
trigger alarm when doors are open.
BTW, can anyone with their D's fitted with an alarm
suggest a good set of alarm that they use??
Many Thanks!! And sorry for the long email BTW!
Best Regards,
John Tien
