Re: [doc] OT - Technical Help with MS Win 2k & Playing Games

Check these few things before you do anything drastic.

1.Check the game makers website, to see if there is a "Patch" or "Update"
availble for the game, which may sort out minor bugs.
2. Update your graphics drivers.
3.Update Sound Drivers.
4.Get your windows updates.
5.Update to DirectX9.0c if you havnt already done so.

Hope this helps.

  Hi Guys,

here's one for the more PC minded amongst you.........

I run Windows 2000 Pro (I hate XP) but as you know, W2K is more
'corporate use' based then, say Win 98 or XP Home.

I often have problems running any games, but I have got Colin McRae
Rally 3 which is says on the box is W2K compatible.  The game loads up
fine, you put all your settings in, pick the car, etc, then you go to
start the rally, you've got a pretty picture of your Scooby Impreza
WRX waiting to blast away, and.......the program crashes and sends you
  back to Desktop.

Any ideas from the IT bods???????
