Yes, Well I had a similar experience, I went to my local scrap yard and bought the biggest open ended spanner you've ever seen in your life, it coat me only 3 pounds! I then "fine tuned it" with an angle grinder, then cut off theother end to allow a length of alloy scaffold pipe to fit on. It did the trick but took loads of effort. On one car I found the nut "finger tight"! The whole front wheel assembly could have just fallen off! These were all very low mileage cars but I suspect it gets more difficult,as the cars get more used. My I remind you that Speedograph in Nottingham now supply our American friends with the replacement angle drives and resisted the attempts of the Americans, to sell them "exclusively". So we can still benefit from reasonably priced ones, of improved design, on our door-step. Don't ask me the price, because I cant remember for sure. They will rebuildyour old one for 35GBP. In the end it had to be sorted at a local garage which has experience in dealing with DeLoreans. The general consensus seems to be that it's a pain of a job, but very satisfying once completed. I was lucky enough to find a PJ Grady "hardcore" angle drive with strong stainless components for a bargain on eBay about a yearago. A year on, this piece of kit has been faultless...might be the way togo to avoid having to pull the angle drive nut off again in the future?
