That was my first reaction! However if Thomas is looking at buying this 
car, this might be the limit of his knowledge on it.

If I were buying a car like this, I'd definitely try to knock the cost 
of an engine off the price.... ($4000+ from DMCH before even thinking 
about labour...). It'd be wirth it given how common these engines are 
over here (not precisely the same, but close enough in a Volvo 760 - 
been on many a scrapyard raid looking for them!)
