RE: [doc] Shipping

Club member Andrew has recently imported two cars, even after all the
arrangements were made, he was asked at the last minute, that "due to
problems" at the USA end, one car would have to travel in a container, ( at
no extra cost) no probs thought Andrew.

However when it arrived, the UK, it was transferred to Thames-port and the
handling company DEMANDED an extra ?300 odd GBP to remove it from its
container, and this had to be paid in cash at their head office ( 60 miles
away from the docks) before we could even go to the docks and sort out the
customs release.

I know, I was driving my Jeep, with huge trailer all around the M25 for
hours and hours!

All things are "over-come able" but don't kid yourself, lots of little
glitches, expenses and problems CAN happen.

A few years ago, Marks car was vandalised on every single panel whilst
stood at the docks!
